In the first quarter of 2025, the top word puzzle games on iOS in Ireland showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared, according to Sensor Tower data.

NYT Games: Word, Number, Logic from The New York Times Company demonstrated strong revenue growth, peaking at approximately $4.6K in early March. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with a notable dip to around 703 by the end of March. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 7.8K and ending at about 6.9K.

Wordscapes by PeopleFun, Inc. saw a decline in weekly downloads from 1.6K at the start of the quarter to just over 300 by the end. Revenue also dropped, with early January figures around $668 and March figures falling to approximately $130. Active users decreased from 10.7K to 6.8K throughout the quarter.

Word Search Explorer® from PlaySimple Games Pte Ltd experienced an increase in both downloads and active users. Downloads surged to 1.3K by the end of March, while active users grew from 150 to 2.7K during the same period. Revenue, however, remained modest, peaking at around $112 in late February.
